ABOUT - GWENN STRATING MOEN

I was born on a cold winters morning on the southern-most tip of Norway to a Dutch father and Norwegian mother. My family soon after emigrated to Australia where they bought a farm inland from Noosa in QLD.

At age eleven, I moved to Byron Bay where I completed my high schooling. After travelling back to Norwary for a few months after high school, I began studying a Bachelor in Multimedia.

Before completing my Bachelor I gained full time employment at Billabong on the Gold Coast, QLD in early 2005. Shortly after Nixon was acquired by Billabong in late 2005, I began working as the Graphic Artist (as one of the first employees at the Head Office) and soon after took on Marketing and PR responsibilities.

I recently relocated to Melbourne, VIC and currently work for the leading skateboard distributor Lush Productions, in Graphic Design and Marketing.

My interest in art and music began early in life. My mothers side of the family was made up of artists and my interest in music was much encouraged by my father, who had played music since a young age as well as for the Australian Navy Band. My mother was also very talented musically and sung, played piano and the Norwegian dulcimer. I began playing flute at the age of nine and was lucky enough to train with a flautist who had formerly belonged to the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

Outside of work, my interests currently include art, design, typography, drawing, craft and music.
